What we do: IIB supports the education, training and development of young people & students by delivering  high quality occupational and cultural experiences within a positive ethical framework.

At 'Internship in Brighton' we offer a variety of work experience packages for you to get the very best from your experience here.

You can choose your work experience in the area you wish, organising your own accommodation or let us use our expertise to suggest a one stop package with work experience and we will do the rest for you!

Why should I come to do my work experience internship in Brighton?

Brighton & Hove is one of the most vibrant and creative cities in Europe, outside of the capital. Its qualities are that it is compact, so easy to get around with great public transport, unique, lively, historic, young and free-spirited. It's a great place to study and is already one of the UK's major centres for English language learning. At under an hour's journey from London, and twenty five minutes from London's Gatwick airport, Brighton is a colourful city located on England's south coast, between the stunning greens of the South Downs and the blue English Channel. Voted the happiest place in the UK, the city offers a great mix of Regency heritage, quirky shopping, funky arts and music, beachfront cool and year round festivals and events. So- if you're looking for the ideal place to carry out your work experience, maybe study some further English and make new freinds, perhaps for life, look no further!  Be warned though- some people come and never leave, it's that good!

How to use our site to choose your complete package

We offer a range of packages for you to choose from, all of which we believe offer good value along with our guarantee of exceptional service and attention to detail to ensure your time here with us is well spent.

1. Decide if you wish to do an internship, in what study area and for how long. If you can it can be useful to arrive a week or two before starting, to acclimatise to the city and find your way around-or maybe to do a 'top up' language course- see below.

2. Decide if you wish to stay in one of our host families, in our shared student accomodation or find somewhere by yourself. Be careful though about answering any online advertisments and paying money up front as sadly there are sometimes
accommodation 'scams' where accommodation offered online simply does not exist.

3. Decide if you wish to study any English language courses whilst here. We have teamed up with the excellent British Study Centre's school in Brighton & Hove to offer a range of options which offer good value. BSC schools were placed in the top five in the whole of Europe in a survey run by . Book an internship through us and we will give you a week of lessons free of charge! This can be a good 'top up' before starting in a company if your English could be better than it is!  It is very important that your English is reasonably good when doing an internship. Interns may decide to do 2-3 weeks of language courses before starting their internship for example. Business english classes can be included as an option.

When you have decided on the above fill in our booking forms and we will do the rest for you. We will always have a mentor available whilst you are in Brighton to sort out any problems you may be having with your accommodation or internship or answer any questions you may have. We offer a range of social activities as well in Brighton  so you can get to know others whilst you are here. Who knows- you may make freinds for life!

Fill in our online form to register just
here.

Funding an internship yourself

For more information about how to acquire a scholarship with the ERASMUS or Leonardo programmes it is best to visit the Lifelonglearning Programme or ask your careers or admin department at your university or college for further information.

Our position on paid internships and UK interns

Please note that we only offer work experience programmes for EU students studying abroad. We do NOT offer paid or unpaid internships to UK students. We strongly support the concept that students or graduates undertaking longer term internships (of 3 months plus) or apprenticeships should be paid at least the UK minimum wage. We also strongly believe that grant funded opportunities have a valuable role to play in helping non UK EU based students help identify & learn about another culture, learn other languages and assist in understanding a working environment better to prepare them for the job market.
