Internships in this area may include a variety of responsibilities but its fair to say that the area of Public Relation is always increasing in importance and scope. As the world moves towards an ever changing media driven focus, social media networks have led to big changes in the field of PR.
Public Relations is basically about managing and balancing the flow of information between an organisation and its stakeholders; no easy job! Interns should gain an opportunity to develop a wide range of competences and skills essential for working in this kind of environment.
Planning to pursue a career in the field of PR will mean you are good at effectively managing and implementing PR campaigns and you will need to be able to show that you can communicate well by using a range of methods and mediums to develop a companies -or campaigns- or persons- positive media exposure and be able to help build healthy, long term relationships with clients and partners.
